Action

Vishvodayaa Trust is a registered Social charitable non-profit making body, working from 2002.The Trust operates from Keelkattlai, Chennai-117 and spread of services in Chennai, Kanchipuram and Chengalpet districts of Tamilandu. The Trust has been striving to promote self-reliant and sustainable development in society, main focus being on child education with auxiliary contribution in the areas of women empowerment, environment, and holistic health care 1. Polio Eradication and Encephalitis awareness, 2. Rain Water Harvesting 3. Environmental Preservation such as afforestation, waste management and recycle. 4. Conducting live demo and awareness programme for the general public on fire fighting and safety methods with the help of the Fire & Rescue department 5. Organizing Awareness & Health camps in Government Schools for eye care and Screening, oral hygiene , personal hygiene and Stay Safe awareness to guard against child abuse 6. Diabetic Awareness and Prevention for General Public including Covid. 7. Livelihood and sustenance of daily wage earners, women and children.

Impact

The beneficiaries were fecilitated with education and skills to earn livelihood, enabled empowerment of Women and Girl child through education and community development.

Programs

  • GIRL CHILD EDUCATION

    Vishvodayaa Trust’s Girl Education for empowerment project (GEEP) focuses on improving the conditions by which girls, especially those in the marginalized communities can access quality education. Education is an important tool that enables women and girls to participate in decisions that affect their lives and in improving their social status. GEEP ,while working through the formal school systems as well as through the integrated programs of Vishvodayaa Trust provides the necessary . Following the Right to Education, Vishvodayaa Trust has been actively engaged with other agencies and the larger civil society to support girl Child Education in its true spirit. GEEP is committed towards enabling effective implementation of education provisions and policies for rights.

  • WOMEN SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME

    The Trust basically identifies women from lower economic background-lower income group who are unable to continue their education, single women and widows with children and women who have been burdened with responsibilities of looking after their family economic needs and also educated women who have had no opportunity for livelihood. All the women have successfully completed their education and training and entered into gainful employment to lead a meaningful and purposeful life.
    The trust supports the educational needs and training of these women by giving them monetary support while in training. The trust incurs Rs.50,000 towards their training and stipend.
    Due to the pandemic, many of the women had lost their jobs and livelihood and were unable to sustain in all aspects due to lack of income. Vishvodayaa Trust extended support to fund for the health, education .

  • KANA-Students skill development (CSR programme)

    Project KANA is a comprehensive career and Life Skills intervention program designed for students from socioeconomically backward communities enrolled in government or government-aided schools and College Girls. The program aims to be a pathfinder to help the students discover their potential, guide students on a journey of self-discovery, help them navigate their interests and aptitudes to find their true potential and chart their educational and career paths.

  • Early Childhood Teacher Programme (ECTP)

    Vishvodayaa Trust runs a Nursery Teacher Training Education Centre which offers skill based teacher training in Early Childhood Education and Crèche Management since 2002 for employability and also start their own crèche as it is the need of the day for working women. The trust helps women identify their strength to undergo training also in soft skills, communication and accountancy Tally.

  • Life Skills Development Programme for Livelihood

    Education with the right skill training is the key to prosperity, better jobs and economic security. Vishvodayaa Trust has identified the problem, the disparity in education levels of young girls and women face and has been striving to extend help them complete education and hone their skills for employability and which is the need of the day.Empowerment of women through skill training for entrepreneurship development is one of the main plank which translates into:

    Providing with an opportunity to nurture IT literacy and skills through vocational training to socially under privileged and women, people with disabilities, Self help groups, dropouts seeking furtherance in education for employment, some older people seeking digital opportunities.
