Sri Sarada Math, inspired by the vision of Swami Vivekananda, plays a pivotal role in the spiritual and social upliftment of women in India. Founded a Read mores an independent organisation in 1959, it embodies the principles of renunciation and service championed by Swami Vivekananda. The Math's primary mission is to empower women spiritually and educate them to serve humanity selflessly. This noble effort took shape in response to Swami Vivekananda's aspiration to establish a Math for women, recognizing that the welfare of the world hinges on the upliftment of women. Initially, challenges such as lack of education among women and prevailing societal conditions delayed its realization. However, the Math's establishment on the eastern bank of the Ganga in 1959 marked a significant milestone in fulfilling Swami Vivekananda's vision. Today, Sri Sarada Math and the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, though legally distinct, are united in their commitment to education, culture, and charitable activities for women and children, emphasizing the divine essence in all, irrespective of caste, creed, or nationality.
