UrbanSoil educates people about organic farming. It aims to reduce overall waste by using kitchen waste as manure. The workshop aspires to train urban Read more citizens about gardening practices such as gardening on terrace, balcony, backyard, farms and in schools and corporates. Terrace gardening is the most common as it absorbs heat and is convenient for residents. Presently, there are 10 such gardens in Pune. These Gardening Workshops have no age limit for participation. These participants, known as Urban Citizens, are active in the city. As of now, there are more than 250 people, who are a part of these workshops in Mumbai and Pune. UrbanSoil believes that this effort would be a step towards sustainable living. Its future plan is to work for conservation of the remaining four elements of nature. By 2020, it aims to educate 10,000 people living in urban settings about significance of home-grown food.
