Programs

  • UdyamStree Programme

UdyamStree, an EdelGive Foundation initiative, empowers women to launch their own businesses despite limited support. It recognizes the importance of economic independence for women's empowerment, particularly in rural India. Launched in October 2020, UdyamStree tackles obstacles hindering women's economic growth through a study on women's entrepreneurship. Women-led businesses currently employ 22 to 27 million people and fostering their growth could create 150 to 170 million additional jobs by 2030.

  • Covid 19 Relief Programme

During these uncertain times, the focus is on supporting grassroots organisations to ensure relief reaches vulnerable communities. In response to the second wave of COVID-19 in India, efforts include providing essential supplies, medical assistance, oxygen, vaccination awareness, collaborating with the Government, and supporting mental health. The GROW Fund, a collective effort with global and Indian philanthropists, aims to sustain 100 grassroots organisations over 24 months. In FY21, over Rs 100 crores were raised for COVID-related relief, and participation in the Common Charter for the Indian Donor and Philanthropic Community was undertaken.

  • The Coalition for Women Empowerment (CWE)

CWE is a collaborative group of funders supporting small and medium-sized institutions in India working for women's rights and gender equality. Apart from grassroots-level activities, there is a need for an ongoing focus on issues faced by Indian women, such as violence, discrimination, leadership, legal justice, rights, and economic independence. The CWE aims to involve influential voices through initiatives like The Influencers, which comprises leaders from diverse sectors. It leverages their identity, networks, and resources to raise awareness, provide funding, and empower marginalized women in society.

  • The Collaborators for Transforming Education

The Collaborators is an alliance led by the EdelGive Foundation, the Government of Maharashtra, nonprofit organisations, and funding partners. Its goal is to enhance the quality of education for 4.4 million children in primary and upper primary Government schools as part of the Government of Maharashtra's Quality Education Programme. Since its launch in 2016, the program has expanded to 7 districts, benefiting over 1.4 million children. It follows a three-phased approach, focusing on learning outcomes, stakeholder capacity building, and community engagement. Recognized as a significant public-private partnership, the programme aims to cover all 36 districts, train teachers, and Government functionaries, and benefit 4.4 million children by 2035.
