Reliance Foundation Read more's Bharat-India-Jodo (RF BIJ) works with small and marginal farmers, helping farming households that have limited livelihood options. RF BIJ works to minimize external dependencies, improves rural lives and livelihoods, and supports low cost and high output in sustainable agriculture. In addition, it helps farmers increase their productivity and leverage the market to increase their income, and empowers farmers by organizing them in collectives. Through its Reliance Nutrition Gardens, which are small kitchen backyard gardens, Reliance Foundation supplements the nutritional intake of rural households. These RNGs help improve the nutrition status of small and marginal farmers and their families, providing them with a diverse mix of vegetables, fruits and medicinal plants throughout the year. Reliance Foundation is also working to transform more than 60,000 hectares of land with little or no productivity into fertile and productive lands (dharti farms), through sustainable agricultural practices. In order to secure water, RF BIJ follows a watershed approach and conserves as much water as possible through the adoption of local conservation methods. RF BIJ has engaged directly with more than 62,000 families in more than 500 villages across 12 Indian states The Reliance Foundation Information Services (RF IS) provides credible information to different livelihood information seekers using modern Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in order to make better decisions regarding their livelihood and increase income. This information service bridges the gap between lab-derived knowledge and field-based skills, helping reduce the risk farmers face while making decisions. Reliance Foundation Relief Foundation has helped various communities after disasters. It provided relief and aid including ration kits, food, and necessary supplies to Assam and Gujarat after heavy flooding. Additionally, RF has helped identify water sources, has provided water to families on a daily basis, and has revived a river under the Marathwada Drought Relief Program. Reliance Foundation believes in using sports for development. Hence, it has set up Reliance Foundation Youth Sports, which aims to transform sports in rural India by providing schools, colleges, and athletes with quality sports facilities, training programs, equipment, and scholarships. The Reliance Foundation Young Champs program's goal is to develop football talent in the country between 10 to 14 years of age. It is a full scholarship based, full-time residential football and educational program run in Navi Mumbai to hone football skills. The Reliance Foundation Jr. NBA program is a comprehensive school-based youth basketball program, which promotes health, fitness and an active lifestyle through basketball, and teaches the values of the game such as teamwork, sacrifice, discipline, dedication and sportsmanship. The Reliance Education Program partnered with several NGOs to launch the Education for All initiative (EFA), in order to work with underprivileged children, promote girl-child education, and impart life skills to the differently abled. The EFA has also been hosting annual Christmas Parties for underprivileged children, in addition to taking children from NGOS across Maharashtra to watch a live IPL match. In addition to the EFA, the Education Program financially supports students of standard XII to pursue college education through its Dhirubhai Ambani Scholarship Programme. The Education Program has also launched a network of schools, the Reliance Foundation Schools, in order to provide an enjoyable educational experience with an emphasis on academic excellence and all-round development. The Reliance Foundation Health Outreach Programme provides medical care through Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) and Static Medical Units (SMUs) at selected locations in Mumbai, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh. MMUs are fully-equipped units with cloud-based software and updated technology to provide free healthcare services to its beneficiaries in their houses through periodic visits. The SMUs provide diagnostic and consultation services focusing on chronic diseases like hypertension and diabetes. Professionally trained MBBS doctors, nurses, and social workers cater to the primary medical care needs of the patients. Over 4.75 lakh individuals have been enrolled in Mumbai to receive medical care under this initiative, most of whom had been unable to take professional help earlier. In collaboration with the National Association for the Blind (NAB), the Reliance Foundation Drishti works to support the visually impaired through several initiatives. It has provded free corneal transplants for the underprivileged. In addition, an international Braille newspaper is published periodically. Under this initiative, Reliance Foundation Drishti also launched a braille calendar in Hindi on World Braille Day. It also holds the Reliance Drishti Essay Competition and Reliance Drishti Art Competition annually in order to raise awareness about the importance of eye donation. The Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre is a multi-specialty tertiary care hospital with 6 prime areas: Cardiac Sciences, Nephro-Urology, Neuro Sciences, Oncology, Orthopaedics & Spine, and Woman & Child Health. In collaboration with Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, MSD India, Tata Trusts and the United States Agency for International Development, Reliance Foundation has implemented Project ASMAN, which aims to address the issue of neonatal and maternal mortality by improving quality of care provided to mothers and newborns using innovative technology-based healthcare. A Reliance Foundation Health initiative, Project Saksham, aims to generate awareness and increase health literacy in communities, deliver quality antenatal and postnatal care for mothers, and provide child and adolescent health services through trained community health workers. In addition, it works to create effective referral linkages to higher services, form village health committees to promote health initiatives, strengthen current health systems and healthcare delivery platforms, and develop and implement village health plans. The project has been implemented in about 140 villages across seven states of India. The Reliance Foundation also has multiple health centers that provide services free of cost. In addition, it has collaborated with the University of Chicago to develop and implement technology-based healthcare in its initiatives. Under its Arts Program, Reliance Foundation works to protect and promote India’s cultural heritage. Reliance Foundation supports Ustad Zakir Husain for his annual concert, has partnered with BP Gas to bring the internationally acclaimed exhibition 'Mummy: The Inside Story' to India, and has partnered with A R Rahman to promote the message of love and brotherhood by creating the musical album ‘Infinite Love’. Reliance Foundation was also the lead sponsor for the annual Elephanta Festival at Elephanta Island which commemorates the heritage of dance, art and sculpture in India. The Urban Renewal initiatives under the Reliance Foundation aim to improve public spaces, revitalize aging infrastructure, and provide newer facilities. One such initiative is Goda Park on the river Godavar, which includes the construction of children’s park, walkways, jogging tracks, and more.
