The Foundation has programs in education, rural development, healthcare, arts and culture, and destitute care. Its mission is to work in remote region Read mores of India. Infosys Foundation works to advance healthcare by focusing on augmenting existing healthcare infrastructure. The Infosys Foundation has constructed hospital wards, built dharma shala (rest houses), and provided medical equipment to various hospitals across India. The Foundation has also donated medicines in addition to organizing health camps in rural India. The Infosys Foundation has donated more than INR 50 crore to expand the capacity of hospitals across India and is involved in several healthcare programs. The Foundation has associated with Sankara Netralaya to provide financial aid to the economically weaker sections of society. The Foundation converted the Lady Willingdon Hospital into the Jaslok Community Ophthalmic Centre and purchased Heidelberg Retinal Angiogram II to diagnose retinal problems in diabetic patients. It has also initiated the building of a new community hospital that aims to offer 12,000 free surgeries every year. The Foundation also partnered with the Swami Vivekananda Integrated Rural Health Centre (SVIRHC). SVIRHC has treated 3,747 leprosy patients, 11,083 tuberculosis patients, and conducted free eye operations for 16,869 patients. The Foundation has also funded the BMCDT Bone Marrow Registry, Bengaluru, to establish a global bone marrow donor registry in India. The Infosys Foundation has offered financial assistance to The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) to provide affordable mental healthcare. Additionally, the Foundation has provided numerous financial grants to various health institutions for research throughout the country. Infosys Foundation has partnered with Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) to encourage students to pursue further studies especially in the fields of mathematics and science. The grants from the Foundation have enabled the institution to enhance its infrastructure and attain certain necessities for all students. The Foundation also started the Spark-IT program, which is a three-month course specifically for meritorious engineering students, to provide technology and communication skills training. Also, the Foundation has contributed extensively to the development of various schools across India, both rural and urban. It also promotes primary education among underprivileged children through global partnerships. Under the Library for Every Rural School project, it established more than 60,000 school libraries across Karnataka and supplied books and educational materials to Door Step, a mobile school for underprivileged children in Pune. The Infosys Foundation promotes traditional art, dance, and craft, with a focus on helping underprivileged artists who don't have many opportunities to grow. The Foundation assists them by offering financial support, promoting their art, or helping them receive recognition. It also organized cultural programs and offered financial help to artists in rural areas of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Infosys Foundation has been a partner of Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum to build a digital ‘Museum City,’ in addition to financially benefitting the employees. The Foundation has also enabled the Uppinakudru Sri Devanna Padmanabha Kamath Memorial Yakshagana Gombeyata Trust to set up a puppetry academy. Infosys Foundation is actively working on restoring and countering the deterioration of the Someshwara Archaeological Complex and 14 other heritage structures. It has also supported various other foundations throughout India in conducting cultural programs and promoting art. One of the main objectives of the Foundation is to help end the exploitation of the devadasi community; hence it has partnered with the Nava Jeevana Mahila Okkoota (NJMO), wherein devadasi children are offered healthcare facilities and schooling. It also supports the Society for Assistance to Children in Difficult Situations (SATHI), which offers help to street children. Additionally, Infosys Foundation has partnered with Vision for Health, Welfare and Special Needs (VISHWAS) to provide elementary education for 300 children from marginalized communities, offering assistance in areas such as education, health, and early childhood care. It has also granted funds to hostels, old-age homes, and medical centers for the underprivileged across India. Also, the Foundation works towards rural development; it has worked with the local administration to construct roads, provide drainage systems, and set up the electricity. It has also donated more than INR 40 crore for rural development and livelihood projects such as awareness campaigns on hygiene, sanitation, vocational training, and entrepreneurship. Also, it helped construct a 7,500 sq. ft. building for the Chittadhama Charitable Trust to provide residential rehabilitation centers for the mentally affected who are homeless. Infosys Foundation has worked with Agastya to provide the underprivileged with training workshops, mobile labs, and a hands-on educational methodology. The foundation has also provided funds for families of officers who were in the Indian Armed Forces, and to numerous development projects in various states, in addition to constructing toilets and wells in various rural areas. Committed ₹100 crore to support the efforts towards fighting Covid-19 in India, out of which ₹50 crore was donated to the PM-CARES Fund.
