Initiatives of Change (IofC) operates as a diverse global network committed to fostering trust and societal transformation across cultural and nationa Read morel boundaries. Originally established as The Oxford Group in the late 1920s, it evolved into Moral Re-Armament (MRA) in response to the turmoil of post-World War II Europe. MRA embarked on a comprehensive program focused on moral and spiritual reconstruction, emphasizing the importance of individual character and motivations for societal change. Its efforts spanned various realms, including fostering reconciliation between nations, supporting decolonization, promoting industrial cooperation, harmonizing race relations, engaging in inter-religious dialogue, advocating for indigenous rights, and contributing to emerging democracies in Central and Eastern Europe. Operating under the name Initiatives of Change since 2001, this global movement relies on individual donations, foundations, and institutional grants to fund its national bodies and specific programs. In India, Friends of Moral Re-Armament (India) serves as an Educational Public Charitable Trust, overseeing IofC's activities within the country. Their objectives revolve around character development and establishing a values-based society. The Trust, managed by a Board of Trustees convening four times a year, ensures annual audits of accounts by M/s S. B. Billimoria & Company, filing them with relevant authorities in Mumbai. The focal point of their activities lies in Asia Plateau, a training and conference centre nestled in the Western hills of Maharashtra, providing a hub for IofC's endeavours, situated about 100 km from Pune in Panchgani.
