Impact

Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCaDT) has made a significant impact on community development in over 95 geographical clusters across 15 states in India, with over 1.3 lakh youth trained in industrial safety, power sector-related skills, and employable skills through their flagship Skill Development initiative, TPSDI. More than 13 lakh community members have gained access to social welfare schemes worth over Rs 200 crore through the Adhikaar digital literacy and financial inclusivity program. Additionally, since 2018, over 2.6 lakh youth have benefited from Tata Power's skilling initiatives, with more than 26,000 women micro-entrepreneurs supported through their flagship Anokha Dhaaga initiative. Furthermore, Tata Power's extensive COVID response reached over 1.6 million community members in 16 states, and the company extended direct support to Public Health Facilities in 63 locations across the country, covering a total of 158 PHCs. Overall, Tata Power's CSR efforts have positively impacted the lives of 4 lakh youth, aligning with the Tata Group's mission to empower socially and economically disadvantaged sections of society.

  • Education Programme

    The organisation focuses on education as a vital catalyst for societal development. It acknowledges the direct link between education, poverty alleviation, and improved health standards. Through its Education Excellence Initiative, it extends support in various ways, including academic coaching, digital learning, and teacher training up to the primary level. This initiative has yielded significant results, with a 64% improvement in academic performance noted during the Mid-Year Assessment. Additionally, stakeholder sensitization efforts have garnered positive community feedback, strengthening parental involvement in School Management Committees. The organisation's objectives encompass enhancing children's learning levels, reducing dropouts, ensuring full school enrolment, supporting adolescent education retention, and promoting higher education opportunities for students from Affirmative Action communities.

    In the field of employability and employment, the organisation's CSR initiatives encompass both agricultural and non-agricultural endeavours. It targets various beneficiary groups, including women's self-help groups, unemployed youth, the fishing community, and farmers. The primary goal is to improve livelihoods by boosting crop productivity through diversified cultivation and establishing market connections. Skill development programmes tailored to market demands are provided for youth and women. The organisation also extends support to two Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) and its in-house skill training institute, Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI). These efforts have yielded positive results, with significant increases in income levels for youth and positive placements, furthering the goal of enhancing food security, increasing income for farmers and youth, and ensuring the sustainability of these initiatives.

  • Entrepreneurship: Anokha Dhaga Programme

    In the realm of entrepreneurship, Tata Power has launched initiatives aimed at empowering women and enhancing household income. One such initiative is Anokha Dhaaga, a micro-enterprise project that focuses on livelihood and skill development. Beginning in 2015 with training for 16 women in garment manufacturing and traditional handicrafts in Maval, Maharashtra, it sought to promote local talents and preserve traditional arts. This endeavour has since expanded to Delhi, Gujarat, and Jharkhand, impacting the lives of 1050 women across eight states. These women now supply products to meet stakeholder orders, resulting in a substantial increase in their monthly income, ranging from Rs. 2000 to Rs. 5000 in just 1.5 years. Additionally, Tata Power has collaborated with Saheli World to provide a global platform for Anokha Dhaaga's women entrepreneurs, enabling them to showcase and sell their products with comprehensive training and support.

  • Pay Autention Programme

    In collaboration with the Center for Autism and other Disabilities Rehabilitation Research and Education (CADRRE), Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT) is dedicated to empowering parents, caregivers, Anganwadi workers, and teachers to become primary therapists. Its mission is to offer early intervention for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and enhance the core deficits associated with ASD.

  • Environment: Club Enerji Programme

    Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT) operates Tata Power Club Enerji (TPCE), a club dedicated to energy and resource conservation. TPCE's mission, starting in 2007, is to raise awareness about the energy crisis and the importance of conserving natural resources, primarily targeting schools and students. With over 3.6 lakh Energy Champions, 4.1 lakh Energy Ambassadors, and 2,000+ self-sustaining Mini Energy Clubs, TPCE has impacted over 530 schools, sensitized 26.4 million citizens, and saved 31.8 million units of energy. It focuses on activities like resource conservation, active citizenship, fuel and water conservation, waste management, afforestation, energy conservation, disaster management, and moral and civic values conservation. Additionally, it promotes E-Learning modules, host competitions, events, and an interactive website for knowledge sharing and resource conservation awareness.
