Santhivardhana Ministries, a registered nonprofit, focuses on uplifting marginalized communities, especially disabled and vulnerable individuals. Esta Read moreblished in 2005, it runs special schools benefiting over 200 physically challenged and mentally retarded children in Pulimeru and Annavaram. These schools offer holistic development encompassing education, shelter, food, and healthcare. Employing the holistic approach of Conductive Education, the organisation empowers children for independent living. Its vision is an inclusive world where those with physical and mental challenges thrive economically and socially. The mission involves safeguarding human rights, enhancing livelihoods, promoting education, conducting disaster preparedness, fighting diseases, fostering environmental protection, and advocating for tribal development. Additionally, it provides counselling, vocational training, and support for various vulnerable groups. Through diverse initiatives, Santhivardhana ensures quality care, education, and integration for children up to 21 years, fostering confidence and diversity appreciation.

Impact

Santhivardhana Ministries has positively impacted the lives of 90 handicapped individuals, rescued 150 orphans, served 600 elderly individuals, and provided free education to 450 beneficiaries.

Programs

  • Safe Motherhood Day And Samuhika Srimanthalu Programme

    In observance of Safe Motherhood Day, an event brought together tribal, scheduled, and backward-class pregnant and lactating women. The focus was on educating them about prenatal and antenatal care, as well as precautions during and after pregnancy. Collaborating with the Health and Women & Child Welfare Department, the day included free medical checkups, medicines, and counselling. This occasion aimed to raise awareness, honour traditions, and provide a kit containing essentials like blouse material, bangles, turmeric, Kumkum, and peanut sweets to participants, emphasizing care for mothers.

  • Computer Training Programme

    Under the guidance of Santhivardhana, 180 rural young adults and women completed a comprehensive 3-month Computer Training programme. Supported by the Community Polytechnic scheme by Human Resource Development, Delhi, the training emphasized vital skills like DTP, MS Office, Visual Basic, and internet usage. Notably, 12 participants secured positions in different private establishments, highlighting the programme's success in facilitating employment opportunities.

  • HIV/AIDS Awareness Programme

    Awareness meetings regarding HIV/AIDS have been organised at the village/community level, facilitated by IEC & BCC resources. In Tirupati and Chandramampalli villages, Santhivardhana engaged youth, women, girls, and the community in these sessions. Emphasizing preventive measures, the discussions covered HIV testing during PPTCT for pregnant mothers, safeguarding against mother-to-child transmission, and protective sex practices with condom demonstrations to prevent STIs, STDs, and HIV/AIDS. Moreover, a school-level campaign, led by an external resource from St. Paul’s Trust and coordinated with school teachers, educated students about HIV/AIDS, including adolescent growth, body mapping, and sex education materials.

  • Medical Camps Programme

    Santhivardhana Ministries took the lead in organising a medical camp for vulnerable individuals, receiving assistance from Operation Blessing India. Over 600 sick and underprivileged individuals gained from this initiative, where qualified doctors from Rangaraya Medical College, Kakinada, conducted examinations and distributed free medicines worth Rs. 2 lakhs.

  • Vocational Training Programmes

    In Peddapuram Mandal of East Godavari District, Kakinada, 220 marginalized women and girls, primarily from SC and BC communities, received Tailoring & Embroidery training across 8 villages. Ministry of Human Resources, New Delhi, facilitated this 6-month course through the Community Polytechnic Scheme, with 3 batches led by a skilled instructor. Notably, 18 beneficiaries were referred by Santhivardhana to TTDC (Technical Training Development Center), Samalkot, for an extended 2 ½ years of training in Tailoring & embroidery.

  • Special Schools For Differently Abled Children And Orphans

    Operating two special schools, Santhivardhana Ministries provides a nurturing environment for 150+ mentally and physically challenged children. These schools, located in Pulimeru and Annavaram, offer essential services like education, therapy, vocational training, and care. In addition, a specialized school in Bendapudi village caters to children with intellectual disabilities, ensuring holistic development through qualified educators, therapists, and caregivers. With support from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, these initiatives empower children for self-reliant and dignified futures, focusing on capacity building and psycho-social assistance.
