The Bhoomi Foundation, launched in 2015 by Tejaswi Choudary and initially comprising 10 members, champions the cause of cleanliness through its 'Swatc Read moreh Bharat' initiative. Beginning in Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, the programme has now extended to Hyderabad, Telangana, marking the first concerted effort towards a clean Ongole campaign. Recognized by the Andhra Pradesh Government as a key contributor to Ongole's poster-free city status, the Foundation has earned accolades, including the Swatchaa Andhra award from Chandrababu Naidu. Its three-month-old inception garnered the Best Social Service certificate at the district level. The Foundation believes in the power of every individual, emphasizing that collective efforts from ordinary citizens can create substantial transformations within the country. With a motto of "Be the change to bring the change," it encourages education and civic engagement, aiming for a cleaner India. Emphasizing the significance of initiating eco-friendly communication methods, the Foundation envisions a larger impact on urban aesthetics, targeting spot-fixing, philanthropic events, and infrastructure upgrades across Hyderabad, appealing to people of all ages while particularly encouraging younger generations to actively participate in their initiatives for lasting change.

Impact

With 600 planted trees, 360 spot-fixes conducted, 5000 Smiles, and supported by 4000 dedicated volunteers, Bhoomi Foundation has made a significant mark on the community.

Programs

  • Spotfix Programme

The Bhoomi Foundation conducts regular spotfix events primarily on weekends, involving tasks such as removing posters, cleaning garbage, and beautifying the area with artwork and quotes. These events typically commence at 5:30 AM, concluding around 9:30 AM, aiming to enhance the community's aesthetics. The spotfix locations are communicated through social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, urging followers to engage and contribute. Additionally, the Foundation notifies these events through its Android app, allowing users to suggest spotfix locations conveniently.

  • Smiles Programmes

Bhoomi actively engages in providing stationery supplies such as pens, pencils, sketch pens, crayons, and snacks like chocolates and biscuits to underprivileged school children. This initiative significantly brightens the faces of these students, eliciting genuine smiles of happiness and gratitude.
