Its vision is to enhance the Read morelives of all individuals through WaSH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) technology projects, working in unison to create a cleaner, improved India. With the aim of aligning its objectives with its partners' ambitions, the foundation endeavours to raise funds that transform communities by promoting better sanitation and water hygiene practices. These initiatives are centred on fulfilling the social responsibilities, such as water conservation, advocating for sanitation and hygiene, and empowering women. It strives to generate opportunities that contribute to fostering a more equitable society. Going beyond water, sanitation, and hygiene, the team is dedicated to managing water sustainably, preserving water ecosystems, safeguarding biodiversity, and combating the challenges posed by climate change. The COVID-19 pandemic has added urgency to the need for water health and access to clean drinking water, surpassing the importance even prior to the pandemic. At Banka Earth Foundation, ensuring the provision of safe, healthy, and clean drinking water remains our top priority, especially in safeguarding human health during infectious disease outbreaks.

Programs

  • Eco-friendly cooking gas

    Every day, the 15m3 biogas plant efficiently recycles 300 kilograms of organic waste to generate sufficient gas for daily cooking needs in the kitchen. This surface-mounted plant is designed to be low-maintenance and highly efficient, producing odourless bio-gas. Safety and hygiene around the plant are ensured through features like the Pressure Releaser and Rodent Resistance Membrane.

  • Twin bio-toilets

    State

    In partnership with BAIF Institute, the foundation is implementing a project to set up 118 twin bio-toilets across 60 schools in Gujarat. This initiative has already shown substantial results, notably decreasing absenteeism and dropouts attributed to inadequate sanitation. Additionally, it has helped in minimizing the risk of infectious diseases. These bio-toilets are integrated with bio-digester plants for effective sewage management. Engineered with RCC modular super-structures, PUF doors, and borewell connections, these bio-toilets are designed for long-lasting functionality.
