The organisation collaborates closely wi Read moreth various government entities, including the Social Welfare-Women & Child Development Department, Labour Department, and Industry Department in Jharkhand. BKS also works with law enforcement agencies such as Jharkhand Police and CID Jharkhand, focusing on the development and protection of children and women. The primary areas of BKS's efforts include the protection and reintegration of migrated individuals, child labourers, and victims or survivors of trafficking. BKS operates a transit home in Delhi and a shelter home in Ranchi, providing temporary shelter to rescued children until they can be reunited with their families. Over the years, BKS has successfully rescued and reintegrated 686 girls, either returning them to their homes or facilitating their mainstreaming into schools. Additionally, the organisation offers skill training and job security to enhance the livelihood prospects of the rescued individuals. In a proactive move to protect women and children, BKS has initiated an innovative program aimed at providing livelihood opportunities to survivors of trafficking or victims. Working in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, Labour Department, CID Crime, Police, and other stakeholders, BKS has provided livelihood training in various fields such as Security Guards, Housekeeping, Hospitality, Beautician, Driving, Tailoring, Stitching, Nursing, and Computers. The intervention has resulted in the successful training of 1109 girls and youths, with 869 of them securing placements in government organisations, NGOs, and corporate houses through BKS's CSR initiative of Public-Private Partnership. Furthermore, BKS is actively involved in a Community Radio Programme in collaboration with BBC Media Action at Murhu Block of Khunti District, Jharkhand. The program covers diverse issues like bonded labour, child trafficking, migration, and awareness about social security schemes. BKS has also played a pivotal role in rescuing 509 children from New Delhi and successfully rehabilitating them in their respective homes. Eligible girls were enrolled in BKS's livelihood training program during this period. The organisation's mandate encompasses various crucial aspects of societal development. It strives to create an inclusive environment where individuals, particularly women and children, can readily access essential health and education services. Additionally, there is a commitment to empower women by providing opportunities for skill training, thereby enabling them to unlock their full potential. Advocacy for the rights and respect of women and children is a fundamental part of the organisation's mission within society. Furthermore, the organisation seeks to bridge the gap between individuals' aspirations for national well-being and their practical realisation, fostering a trustworthy connection. It also dedicates efforts to empower women against the scourges of trafficking and harassment by developing their ability to discern right from wrong. Nurturing future human resources is a key focus, emphasising the comprehensive development of children, particularly in the realms of health and education. Programs

  • Livelihood and placement

    Recognizing the need for sustainable livelihoods to break the cycle of vulnerability, BKS initiated a program to train trafficking survivors as security guards and housekeeping staff. Collaborating with government agencies, corporate houses, and UNODC, the initiative has empowered around 230 girls who now work across the country. Basanti, another beneficiary, shares her journey from working as a mistreated maid to becoming a trained security guard through BKS.

  • Sakhi Samwad

    In collaboration with BKS, JSLPS actively participated in the Sakhi Samwan Meeting, setting up a stall in the meeting premises. The organizations distributed pamphlets detailing the new project Swavalamban and engaged with attendees, sharing information about their respective works. The interaction included promoting the Swavalamban project and providing brief details to the audience. Pamphlets of ongoing projects and a copy of the annual report for 2017-18 were presented to all honorable guests. The initiative received positive responses, particularly from young girls expressing interest in enrolling for skill development training. Guests visiting the stall congratulated the organizations for their work and sought information about the new project.

  • Swabhiman Betiya

    The Swabhiman Batiya campaign was inaugurated by Bal Kalyan Sangh & ATSEC India at Dr. Ram Dayal Munda Tribal Research Institute, Ranchi, on 16th February 2019. The program aimed to fortify and promote women empowerment schemes in Jharkhand, such as "Mukhya Matri Sukanya Yojna," and raise awareness about issues like child trafficking, child labor, child marriage, child abuse, women abuses, women protection, and women empowerment.

  • Bal Adhikar Mahotsav (Hausla)

    On the occasion of the 29th International Child Rights Day, approximately 200 children from Observation Homes and Kishori Niketan gathered to showcase their talents at Saptrishi Bhawan and Rajendra Bhawan on November 23-24, 2018. The primary objective of the event was to provide children with a platform to exhibit their talents, empowering them in their skills to boost motivation and encouragement. As part of the Hausla program, 25 children who are survivors of trafficking and child labour were chosen to showcase their talents in performing arts, including paintings, street plays, and speeches based on a theme at the national-level program, Bal Mohatsav.

  • CHILDLINE (1098) Service

    Since 2011, Bal Kalyan Sangh (BKS) has been actively serving as a Nodal organization in collaboration with six Collab & sub-centre NGO Partners in Pakur and a Collaborative organization in Dhanbad District, along with two Sub-centre NGO partners.

  • Balkunj (Children Home for Boys)

    BKS operates two Children’s Homes in Jharkhand with the backing of the (ICPS) Department of Women, Child Development, and Social Security, Government of Jharkhand. One, named "Balkunj," is located in West Singhbhum, catering to boys, while the other, "Kishori Niketan," situated in Bijupara, Ranchi District, serves girls. Both Children's Homes function as Residential Child Care Institutions for Children in Need of Care & Protection, duly registered under the JJ Act 2015 by ICPS, Government of Jharkhand. The focus extends beyond providing a safe and healthy environment, emphasizing the all-round personality development of the children. Various methods, including Yoga, Art Therapy, Animal Assisted Psycho-therapy, Sports, exposure to literature and science, and the development of different livelihood and life skills, are employed to foster positive transformation.

  • State Resource Centre (SRC) & Integrated Rescue cum Rehabilitation Centre (IRRC)

    For the first time, BKS operates the State Resource Centre in Ranchi and the Integrated Resource-cum-Rehabilitation Centre (IRRC) project in New Delhi, supported by the Department of Women, Child Development & Social Security, Government of Jharkhand. The primary objective of establishing these two coordination centres is to facilitate the rescue of victims, identify survivors in various shelter homes in Delhi, and coordinate with local administration and other stakeholders to provide support services such as medical examinations, lodging of FIRs, wage compensation, legal aid, and ensure safe repatriation to their home state.
