Its primary objective is to make the poor bankable and empower them to rise above the poverty line. SRFS offers need-based credit to SAGs in collaboration with NGOs and Government departments. The focus is on women's empowerment and development, aiming to strengthen their economic and social well-being. The organisation targets the unreached poor who lack access to formal financial institutions by providing affordable loans through joint liability group concepts. SRFS has grown steadily since its inception and has assisted numerous groups across backward regions in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh. It collaborates with financial institutes and commercial banks for onward lending activities and operates with transparency and compliance with regulatory guidelines. SRFS extends loans to self-help groups for livelihood activities, including agriculture and small businesses, following the SHG Bank Linkage model. In addition, it has diversified its lending model to include Joint Liability Group (JLG) loans and supports Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) at low-interest rates. The organisation is committed to its core objective of serving underprivileged areas and remains aligned with RBI guidelines for non-banking financial companies-microfinance institutions.

  • Lending Programme

    Sanghamithra Rural Financial Services (SRFS) offers various loan products to cater to the needs of different groups and individuals in rural areas. Under the SHG vertical, it provides General Purpose Loans to women's self-help groups (SHGs) with a minimum of 10 members. In the JLG vertical, SRFS offers General Purpose Loans to women who undergo a 3-day training programme and form homogeneous Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) with 5 to 10 members. SRFS also provides specialized loans such as Water and Sanitation loans for constructing toilets, water filters, and other related purposes. Additionally, there are loans for specially-abled persons, house construction and renovation, continuing education, solar lighting, loans to Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and small entrepreneur loans. Each loan product has specific eligibility criteria, loan amounts, tenures, and interest rates, with a focus on supporting rural development and empowerment.

    Certain projects have been identified for corporate social responsibility (CSR) spending. These projects include initiatives such as eliminating hunger, promoting preventive healthcare, improving hygiene and sanitation, ensuring access to safe drinking water, implementing rural development projects, providing educational fee assistance to children of SHG members, supporting social empowerment programmes, and offering assistance to educational institutions.
