Since its establishment in 1998, Yuva Parivartan, under the flagship of the Kherwadi Social Welfare Association (KSWA), has significantly impacted more than 1.25 million disadvantaged youth and women in the span of 24 years. The organisation offers tailor-made courses designed for quick and effective skill acquisition, helping students realize the benefits within 15 to 90 days. By working closely with field counsellors, trainers, and local livelihood providers, along with leveraging technology, Yuva Parivartan successfully mobilizes students and equips them with the skills needed to secure stable livelihoods. Its approach focuses on community engagement, livelihood training, industry partnerships, on-the-job training, and livelihood support, striving to create a positive impact across India by addressing sustainability on student, programme, and ecosystem levels.

With a presence in 15 states, across 60 districts, and operating 47 centres, Yuva Parivartan has trained and certified 1.25 million students, moreover, with 170 partnerships, it has achieved a remarkable 69% success rate in fostering livelihoods.

Programs

  • Skill Development & Livelihoods Programme

    Yuva Parivartan empowers deprived Indian youth through skill development for sustainable livelihoods. In the face of concerning unemployment rates and low labour force participation, the organisation equips individuals with alternative skills, particularly in rural areas where poverty prevails. Established in 1998, it focuses on transformative skill training, attitudinal shifts, and income generation, certifying 1.25 million participants across 18 states in various sectors over 24 years. With plans to train over 2 lakh individuals in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Telangana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh this fiscal year, Yuva Parivartan remains dedicated to positive change. Additionally, it leads an Integrated Rural Development Programme, addressing multifaceted challenges in Maharashtra's Palghar and Gadchiroli districts, from agriculture to public health.

  • Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP)

    Yuva Parivartan's Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP) embraces a community-driven approach, engaging locals in decision-making and asset creation for sustainable livelihoods. This involvement generates a sense of commitment and ownership, bolstered by YP's structured execution using standardized designs and local resources. The programme is managed by a versatile team of engineers, agriculturists, and social workers, capable of swift adaptation to project specifics. Supported by sponsors like HSBC and Tata Trusts, YP's IRDP initiatives have exceeded 12 crores over 5 years, amplified by collaborations with government agencies and NGOs. Its Demo farm in Wada, Palghar, serves as an innovative showcase for water, sanitation, renewable energy, agriculture, and livestock practices, promoting cost efficiency and income enhancement. A similar project in Ashti, Gadchiroli, tailored to local conditions, underscores YP's commitment to holistic sustainable development.

  • Counselling Programme

    Yuva Parivartan focuses on youth development, addressing challenges from disadvantaged backgrounds. Its Counselling Programme aids emotional growth, self-esteem, and career readiness. Counsellors guide through modules: self-discovery, career alignment, and workplace skills. Pandemic resilience sessions were added, featuring relaxation methods like tapping.

  • Hospitality Programme

    Yuva Parivartan's Hospitality Programme empowers economically disadvantaged students aspiring to join the hotel industry. Partnered with the Sustainability Hospitality Program in the UK, it offers on-the-job training in 35+ five-star hotels. Students aged 18+ with a 10th-grade education undergo 100 hours of language and life skills training followed by 3 months of rigorous hotel training. The programme covers spoken English, life skills, and practical learning (80% hands-on, 20% classroom) six days a week. Benefits include placement assistance, departmental rotation, specialized training, uniforms, meals, medical facilities, stipends, and potential apprenticeship opportunities.

  • Yuva Engage Programme

    Yuva Parivartan's "Yuva Engage" empowers NGOs for growth and excellence. It offers tools, mentoring, networking, and learning from social leaders. The mobile app provides insights from KSWA's journey. The goal is funding readiness and tripling impact for 10,000 NGOs. The recent event celebrated participant achievements and marked the initiative's ecosystem of learning, mentoring, and networking.
