  • Since

    2005

BITSAA Alumni Trust was set up in 2005 by a group of alumni of BITS Pilani, for the purpose of furthering their common desire of “Giving Back to BITS” Read more, more specifically to promote Local Area Community Development in and around Pilani, Rajasthan for bringing about a social transformation with an emphasis on the lesser privileged members of the society. To achieve this purpose, a community development project was initiated, called Pilani AtmaNirbhar Resource Center (PARC). The Trust was allotted land belonging to BITS Staff Housing Kalyan Samiti, Pilani, Rajasthan, on a long term basis in May 2008. The Trust has since established a building, inaugurated in 2012, called Pilani AtmaNirbhar Resource Center (“PARC”). All PARC activities are carried out in this sprawling 17,000 sqft. building built specifically for this purpose. The Trust believes that it must play the role of a facilitator by creating a physical infrastructure in Pilani that can support work on the ground done by different stakeholders interested in our rural sector development, e.g. NGOs, civil society organizations, Central/State Government agencies international development agencies and the like who have the necessary expertise in their chosen areas of work. The people involved from BITSAA in giving shape to PARC have been senior professionals and officials from wide-ranging backgrounds. The Vision PARC is a non-profit platform that enables Alumni, students and staff of the institutions, to engage with and bring transformational change to nearby communities
