Sargakshetra Charitable Trust is a not-for-profit organisation that strives to build sustainability and community resilience through various activitie Read mores across Kerala. Since 2002, the organisation have extensively initiated various projects to strengthen and support vulnerable communities which are in need of a helping hand. It has reached families affected by disasters, undertaken livelihood promotion initiatives, cancer care, environment protection activities, senior citizen welfare, Infrastructure repair and restoration, women and youth empowerment programmes, educational aid and much more. The organisation received “Special Consultative Status” with the United Nations from 2021.  Among its activities during Kerala Floods, Sargakshetra actively partnered in activities rescuing more than 6500 affected people from Kuttanad, distribution of relief and hygiene items, cleaning of flood-affected households, well cleaning etc. As part of rehabilitation, the organisation was able to provide livelihood support, distribute water purifiers, tree plantation activities and much more. Sargakshetra also repaired and restored 28 Schools and 18 Anganwadis , provided learning kits to 31 Anganwadis and constructed 2 houses for flood-affected families. Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and WASH training were provided to students, teachers and parents of each of the institutions. As Sargakshetra celebrates 20 years of service to humanity, it is re-anchoring its approach to build resilience among communities.
