The Foundation for Development Initiative (FDI) is a national entity committed to tackling various development hurdles within the nation. Stemming from a recognized deficiency in development endeavours, particularly in reaching marginalized villages and communities, FDI seeks to provide services and resources to those lacking access, complementing government and other provider initiatives. A primary objective is to create conducive development environments by promoting partnerships between the public and private sectors and enhancing stakeholder capacities. Its mission involves coordinating a unified development approach by uniting grassroots organisations, communities, businesses, and individuals. FDI envisions a society marked by economic productivity, social equity, environmental sustainability, cultural richness, and authentic democracy. To realize this vision, FDI advocates for comprehensive intervention strategies and programs aimed at positively influencing both society and systemic structures.

  • E - Charcha Programme

    Transforming lives by raising awareness on adolescent issues like child marriage, child protection, and nutrition is the focus of the digital platform "E-Charcha," supported by UNICEF India. Particularly prevalent in rural areas of Rajasthan and Haryana, early marriages perpetuate poverty, gender inequality, and health risks. FDI, with UNICEF-Rajasthan's backing, launched the website "E CHARCHA" to educate stakeholders and spur action. Workshops and orientation sessions engaged grassroots journalists, while online media campaigns amplified awareness efforts. Awards recognized exemplary reporting, fostering a culture of impactful journalism.

  • Farmer Training Programme

    Training farmers on safe agro-chemical application is crucial to prevent accidents and ensure sustainable agriculture. FDI, in collaboration with the PI Foundation, launched a program aimed at increasing awareness among farmers about adhering to safety guidelines. Conducted in Lucknow with support from the Department of Agriculture, Uttar Pradesh, the program emphasized the use of safety kits and compliance with label instructions. Approximately 1,500 farmers benefited from the training, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to apply chemicals safely and prevent potential casualties.
