Programs

  • Skills and Livelihood

We simultaneously trained young people from the community in a range of sectors to accomplish the aims of the Payir team, which included community health animators, instructors, alternative construction techniques, stabilised mud block production, organic farming, and a cooperative cattle farm. Secondly, by offering instruction in a few new sectors, like the food industry, bag production, consistent stitching, BPO, and sequencing. The next big step towards sustainability was to use as much locally produced material as possible to enhance cash flows and the local economy. Our goal was to serve as subject matter experts and team leaders while giving the less fortunate members of society chances. Young mothers were also given special consideration so that they could provide their kids with more choices and opportunities.

  • Environment

Thirty thousand of the more than three thousand saplings that were planted in and around Thenur since 2019 have survived. Payir has been successful in mass planting about sixty native species kinds in and around its villages, including illupai, vembu, naval, pungai, poovarasu, neermaruthu, sivappu kondrai, and manjal kondrai. Approximately one hundred different native plants have been planted on the seven-acre Payir campus. Payir arranged and held an agro fest for more than 60 communities and 1800 people to highlight and celebrate natural farming and its advantages.
