Programs

  • Health – Project Axshya

Through collaboration between the public and private sectors, the Axshya project aims to increase access to high-quality tuberculosis treatment and management. By working with community-based providers to enhance TB services, particularly for women, children, marginalized, and vulnerable populations as well as TB-HIV co-infected populations, it helps India's Revised National TB Control Programme (RNTCP) increase its reach, visibility, and effectiveness through active case finding.

KALP is providing training to qualified private practitioners regarding TB notification, facilitating IPT for children under five who come into contact with TB patients, and preparing health care providers in rural, urban, and AYUSH areas for various levels of referrals of TB symptomatic cases to government health facilities. To improve TB case detection, active case finding is done in urban slums and rural areas.

  • Self Help Promoting Institute (Nabard)

In one of the districts of Chhattisgarh state that was picked, KALP was chosen as the project's anchor NGO/support agency. NABARD classified self-help promoting institutions (SHPI) into the following five categories:

NGOs, trusts, or organizations that support SHGs in connection with banks. NGO/MFIs, which are financial intermediaries in and of themselves, are not included. When branch employees actively support SHGs, organize their savings, and extend loans to them, banks are acting as SHPIs in and of themselves. The banks could be cooperatives, RRB, or commercial.
Farmers' clubs known as VVVs were established, typically with NABARD's help, with the original goal of enhancing the local credit culture.
People who support SHGs on their initiative, rather than as staff members or members of an organization, are considered self-employed. They might perform this as true volunteers without receiving any payment, or they might make some money from the endeavour.
