The Thar Artisan Collective (TAC), established in 2015, is a women's social enterprise addressing poverty in the Thar Desert of Western Rajasthan, India. TAC empowers women to break the cycle of economic insecurity by honing their handicraft skills, increasing household income, and creating opportunities for themselves and future generations. Supported by WomenServe, TAC members produce unique handicrafts and custom gifts, with grants facilitating skills training, business development, and market connections. With 30 artisans enhancing their business leadership skills, 130 women benefiting from income-generating opportunities, and 580 artisans refining their craft, TAC contributes to women's economic empowerment. To support women's independence through TAC, individuals can purchase custom gifts from Traditional Medicinals, with proceeds directly supporting artisans and programme sustainability.
