Tara Sansthan is dedicated to assisting the elderly in need. Founded by Smt. Kalpana Goyal, with the guidance of Dr. Kailash ‘Manav’, Tara Sansthan em Read moreerged from a legacy of compassionate service. Inspired by her father's humanitarian efforts, Smt. Kalpana Goyal initiated Tara Sansthan to address the plight of the impoverished elderly. The organisation's inaugural project, "Tara Netralaya" in Udaipur, focuses on providing essential eye care and cataract surgeries free of charge to those in need. Tara Sansthan's primary focus lies in addressing the challenges faced by elderly individuals, particularly those living in rural and remote areas. Often neglected and vulnerable, these individuals suffer from poverty-related ailments and loneliness. Through its initiatives, Tara Sansthan aims to alleviate their suffering and provide essential support to improve their quality of life.

Programs

  • Eye Hospitals

Tara Sansthan operates four eye hospitals in Udaipur, Delhi, Mumbai, and Faridabad, providing free eye care and cataract surgeries to impoverished rural communities. These hospitals boast modern facilities and skilled medical staff. Additionally, the organisation conducts eye camps to identify and treat cataract patients, offering free services including diagnosis, surgeries, medications, spectacles, and post-operative care. Through these initiatives, Tara Sansthan aims to alleviate the burden of eye ailments among the underprivileged, particularly in remote areas where access to treatment is limited.

  • Anand Vruddhashram

Tara Sansthan noticed during its outreach eye camps in remote villages that many elderly individuals lacked support and faced destitution. In response, it established Anand Vruddhashram, a free old age home, on 3rd February 2012, offering accommodation, food, medical care, and a nurturing environment to the elderly in need. Despite initial local reluctance, the home gained popularity among urban middle-class individuals. Initially housing 45 beds, the facility in Udaipur expanded to accommodate 150 seniors, with an additional 15-bed capacity in Prayagraj, opened in April 2018 and September 2022 respectively.
