Viswajayam Foundation, founded by Mr. Sekar Viswanathan, began with a focus on improving sanitation in hospital cancer wards after noticing inadequate Read more cleanliness during a visit. Recognizing the importance of hygiene for patients undergoing treatment, the foundation expanded its efforts to provide various charitable services. These include education, food and water distribution, support for small entrepreneurs, and assistance with medical treatments. It aims to address diverse needs in an organized manner to support individuals in difficult circumstances.

  • Viswa - Suraksha Programme

    District

    At the Royapettah Government Hospital Cancer Block since 2013, it operates a 24/7 service across all six floors, totalling 1 lakh sq. feet, with 14 workers. Its activities involve comprehensive cleaning and disinfection of various areas, including toilets, wards, ICUs, and more, utilizing biodegradable disinfectants and producing its own sodium hypochlorite and bio enzyme solutions. Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, it has intensified sanitization efforts. Similarly, at the Institute of Child Health in Egmore since 2019, it has provided cleaning services for the pediatric haematology ward across two floors, employing two workers for one shift, ensuring hygiene and cleanliness in wards, toilets, and hallways.

  • Viswa - AtchayaPaathiram Programme

    District

    The Viswajayam Foundation runs the Viswa - AtchayaPaathiram programme, providing daily meals to impoverished individuals seeking treatment at hospitals such as GH and ICH, as well as to those residing in various needy homes. With a focus on supporting mothers whose children are hospitalized, it recognizes their inability to cook or afford hygienic food, especially as many are from outside Chennai and have lost their sources of income. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it intensified its efforts, distributing over one lakh meals during the complete lockdown of the first wave, amounting to Rs. 30 lakhs in value, with services extended to frontline workers and the transgender community. In the second wave, it continued its support by distributing lunches and buttermilk to police and conservancy workers on duty, with its COVID services totalling over Rs. 50 lakhs in value, including the provision of more than 20,000 meals at ICH, Egmore.
