Overview: We are a not-for-profit organisation based out of Bengaluru. Nearly 70% of India’s school-going children are in villages. More than 90% of Read morethem do not complete their schooling and end up with low-value jobs when they grow up. Development of life skills and creativity in them during their most impressionable age (5-14years) are habit-forming for life. This lays a strong foundation for them to take to entrepreneurship upon growing up and continue living in villages instead of migrating to towns and cities, creating a superior livelihood for themselves and others. Our focus is life skills to livelihood .  What do we do?:  We develop life skills and creativity in village children through sports, storytelling, creative activities and experiential learning. Ours is a High Touchpoint Program, where we do these activities on a daily basis in each of the villages, we work in. 60% of our beneficiaries are girl children. Also, 95% of our team members are women and among them, 95% are in the villages. Due to our efficient delivery structure, we were one of the very few organizations to have not only been able to conduct our program even during the pandemic, but also grow our presence 6x since the last 18 months. Our Presence:  We are currently present in 163 villages across TN and Karnataka. Our presence is in Tumkur, Denkanikottai of Krishnagiri district and Vadipatti of Madurai district. Our Vision:   A world where children in villages pursue their dreams and create superior livelihoods for themselves and others. Our mission:  To impact 60000 children across 2000 villages, by the end of 2025. Our Objective: We all know that to create Olympic winners, we need to focus on children in their early years and train them from the beginning. It is not any different in developing the foundation for strong entrepreneurial skills in our rural children. At NavSahyog Foundation, we develop life skills and creativity in village children during their most impressionable age (5-14 years). Our initiative lays a strong foundation for the rural youth, both male and female, to be successful at entrepreneurship. In addition, through life skills in girl children, we are developing confident and empowered young women in villages, which leads to enhanced gender equality and healthy mothers and healthy children born to them.

Programs

  • Core Program

We develop life skills and creativity in village children in the age of 5-14 years through sports, storytelling, creative activities and experiential learning. We do this on a daily basis in each of the villages we work in. We have co-created this program ground up, with the rural community. It is easy to implement, highly scalable and low on space and cost. We have made it ‘open’ for all to implement.

  • Extension Program

    a. Dhan Kaushal: Financial Literacy for 5-18 years old.

    b. Yuva Samriddhi: Vocational training for rural youth on self employment in collaboration with an CBD-RSETI at Haliyal, Karnataka.

    c. Vanya Samriddhi: Developing multi layered food forests on 1+ acre of barren lands of farmers. This increases farmers' income, livelihood opportunities in the villages and creates a positive climate action, through preservation of soil, water and large carbon sequestration.
