Aasara is a registered NGO working for street and railway station children since 1993 with the aim of empowering and rehabilitating them back to socie Read morety. Various need-based services like formal and non-formal education, preventive and curative health, recreation, skills development, annual camps, extracurricular activities like yoga are imparted to these children at our Day Care Centres and 24-hours girl's shelter to make them self reliant. It believes that the children have the potential and talents that need to be channelised and it gives them a platform and exposure through its projects and programmes. Vision: to have no street children in our area of work. Mission: To bring meaning into the lives of street children through the animation of sustainable need-based services that empower them to be self-reliant and productive citizens of our society. Some of these children have graduated now employed in reputed organisations whilst some are entrepreneurs and a few are employed abroad.

    District

    Daily indoor and outdoor games such as carom, chess, cricket, football, throw ball, and badminton are organized at scheduled times. Television and music are available for entertainment. Children actively participate in local competitions, fostering teamwork and leadership skills. Additionally, they have access to a mini library at the shelter homes.

  • Education

    District

    Children receive both formal and non-formal education to prepare them for mainstream schools and ensure their successful completion of schooling. Financial assistance is offered to those continuing to college, while those interested in vocational trades are connected with suitable institutions. Additionally, the organization provides after-school support through study classes conducted by staff and volunteers.

  • Preventive and Curative Health

    District

    The staff, professionals, and volunteers conduct awareness sessions via media to educate children about health issues and seasonal diseases. Hygiene: Children have access to daily bathing facilities, individual lockers, and an ample supply of clothing and toiletries. Nutrition: Each meal is carefully planned to ensure that children receive the minimum required calorie intake for the day. Medical Aid: Children receive medical attention from public hospitals and clinics when necessary, and periodic check-up camps are organized. Exercise: Children participate in yoga sessions led by trained staff to promote physical well-being.
