Our motto is to provide humanitarian aid, Environmental/Disaster relief, Educational enablement for the underprivileged to ensure people not only get their most basic needs met but also improve their Quality of Life; Hence, the name UMED- A ray of hope to one and all beyond the social and economic divide of society. UMED is formally registered with the – Charity Commissioner –Pune, Government of India. UMED foundation's social outreach initiative implements several large-scale human service projects to support rural educational growth, revitalize health and restore the environment. ​

Programs

  • Dnyanjyot: Make a Life

    In an effort to address educational challenges faced by students in remote areas, the organization has established partnerships with 150 schools across diverse regions. This collaboration has proven instrumental in reaching students requiring educational assistance, with over 5000 beneficiaries as of April 2020. The organization extends scholarships to bright yet financially needy students across various educational levels, including higher secondary, graduation, and post-graduation. Additionally, educational materials such as stationary, clothing, and bags are provided to primary and upper primary students, ensuring they have the necessary resources to pursue their studies effectively. Through these initiatives, the organization aims to enhance educational access and support academic success among disadvantaged students in remote areas.

  • Health Campaign: Pandharpur Wari

    Pandharpur Wari, an annual pilgrimage to the town of Pandharpur, stands as one of the world's largest and oldest movements, drawing countless participants who journey approximately 250 km on foot on a designated day each year. With such immense participation comes inevitable health-related challenges. Recognizing this opportunity to serve the pilgrims, Umed organized free medical camps. Each year, the organization's team of health experts diligently provides services to more than 10,000 individuals, offering vital medical assistance and addressing health concerns along the pilgrimage route. Through these efforts, Umed strives to ensure the well-being of pilgrims and contribute to the success and safety of the Pandharpur Wari pilgrimage.
