Humana People to People India(HPPI) is a non-profit development organisation that is focused on promoting the overall development of underserved and n Read moreeedy people in India, both in rural and urban areas. It has multiple programmes that aim to improve education, life skills, livelihoods, health and sanitation, women's empowerment, and environmental protection. It also works with state Governments through public-private partnerships to implement educational projects. In addition, HPPI conducts entrepreneurship training programmes and income-generating projects for women and supports health and nutrition through community awareness and training of frontline workers. HPPI is part of a global network of non-profit associations, the Federation for Associations connected to the International Humana People to People Movement, which is committed to international solidarity, cooperation, and development. The organisation's activities are aligned with the UN's 2030 Agenda, which aims to build human capacity and encourage people to work together to improve their lives and communities.

Programs

  • Education Programme

    HPPI promotes education through various programmes, such as teacher training, foundational learning for out-of-school children, remedial education for adolescent girls, and preschool education. It works closely with state Governments to ensure impartial access to educational prospects for all learners. The programmes aim to bridge learning gaps and address 21st-century challenges while creating a healthy and encouraging school environment.

  • Livelihood & Community Development Programmes

    HPPI aims to involve communities, together creating viable changes, imparting skills and entrepreneurship development training, facilitating access to public services and social security schemes, and promoting gender equality. It also works on improving nutrition, protecting the environment, and supporting homeless people. The projects are carried out in both rural and urban areas and aim to end poverty through joint efforts.

  • Health Programmes

    HPPI informs people on health issues, engages community members to demand quality health services, works with local health systems, and organises regular health clinics and camps. It provides remedial healthcare services, including mass deworming, distribution of supplements, treatment of illnesses, and mother and child health education. HPPI also partners with the Government to raise awareness and eliminate tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and diabetes.

  • Environment Sustainability Programmes

    This programme works with communities to promote viable practices and climate change adaptation. It focuses on viable agriculture practices, setting up nutritional gardens, solid and e-waste management systems, and the use of renewable energy sources. It also plants trees and promotes the use of biogas and solar energy.
