SAKSHI - Center for Information Education and Communication was established in 1993 with by Dr. Dharam Anand to address critical issues in the fields Read moreof Health and Education. Sakshi has 15 diverse initiatives encompassing children’s education, women empowerment, health, hygiene, and the promotion of Indian culture, benefiting numerous children and women; their impactful initiatives include providing midday meals to children, covering multiple districts with Women's helpline support, educating girls, delivering digital education to schools, and sponsoring school libraries, while also working to improve sanitation, offer vocational training, run helplines for women, and promote communal health by providing clean water and installing toilets in impoverished areas. Over the years, it has expanded to work with marginalized communities in various regions, including Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Sonipat, and other areas within the National Capital Region (NCR).

  • Mobile helpline for women

    State

    Since 2015, the organization has operated a Mobile Helpline for Women in distress, receiving support from Delhi Commission for Women, Govt of Delhi. This helpline covers 29 Police districts in Delhi and attends to various issues, including domestic violence, sexual assault, dowry violence, health-related concerns, and more. The team responds promptly to all cases, dispatching Police and DCW Mahila Help Line (MHL) counsellors to victims as required. Immediate assistance is provided, offering medical aid, legal support, counselling, and shelter if necessary, ensuring resolution for the distressed women.

  • Meals for underprivileged children

    Healthy Meal project aims to provide underprivileged children with balanced and nutritious meals, ensuring good health for better education. By offering 4700 meals daily in SAKSHI Centers and 700 breakfasts to Aanganwadi children, the program prevents child labor and supports holistic growth. Educating mothers about nutrition and family planning through community camps enhances the well-being of children and mothers. Addressing basic nourishment needs in slums, the mid-day meals initiative promotes sustainable education and nurtures children's physical development.

  • Educate underprivileged children

    The project aims to provide quality education to 1200 out-of-school children annually, promoting awareness and life skills for financial independence. The project covers pre-schoolers, marginalized street children, and low-literate youth, offering vocational training to empower them with self-confidence and chart their destinies. Emphasizing girl child education to break traditional barriers and create equal opportunities for all.

    To mainstream children into regular schools remedial education, life skills and value based education is provided to underprivileged children up to eight standard.
