Vijnana Bharati, known as Vibha plays a crucial role in addressing the nation's unique challenges on its path to becoming a welfare state. This scienc Read moree movement, with a swadeshi (indigenous) spirit, originated in the Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru. Initially, it was a small initiative led by eminent scientists under the guidance of Prof. K I Vasu. Over time, it grew into a national organisation. In 1991, during the Nagpur meeting, it was decided to launch the Swadeshi Science Movement nationwide, and it was named Vijnana Bharati. Vijnana Bharati operates across the nation, with units in 22 states and contacts in 4 more. It actively engages in 11 different areas through autonomous institutions, independent organisations, and project entities. This dynamic Science Movement is dedicated to the development of Swadeshi Sciences by bridging traditional and modern sciences and connecting natural and spiritual sciences while adapting modern sciences to meet national needs.
