The Centre for Development (CƒD) is a social and non-profit voluntary organisation, established by experienced professionals with expertise in Rural D Read moreevelopment, Sociology, Para-medicine, and Environment. It was founded on 2nd October 1998 and later received legal status under the Indian Trust Registration Act in 2000. The organisation focuses on the welfare of the poorest and marginalized communities, including differently-abled individuals and uncared elders. It operates through branch offices at various locations and collaborates with other NGOs for state-level initiatives, particularly in preventing women and child trafficking in Chattishgarh. Its vision is to create a society based on cooperation, peace, and harmony with nature, where both genders have access to information, decision-making, and natural resources. The mission includes promoting all-round development for the poor and marginalized by empowering them for social justice, economic growth, and self-reliance. It also emphasizes environmental conservation, gender equality, and the regeneration of sustainability and self-reliance. Programs

  • Livelihood Promotion, Rehabilitation of Differently abled & Women Empowerment Programmes

    The Center for Development operates multiple programmes aimed at livelihood promotion, rehabilitation of differently-abled individuals, and women's empowerment. In Dumari Block, Gumla District, it focuses on capacity building, livelihood awareness, and traditional water harvesting promotion. It also provides vocational training to adult dropouts and works towards combating human trafficking and sexual exploitation. In Namkum Block, Ranchi, its efforts are directed towards the rehabilitation of differently-abled children and individuals. Additionally, it runs women empowerment initiatives in various locations across Jharkhand and Chattisgarh through training and income generation activities.

  • Vocational Training Programme

    District

    The Center for Development conducts vocational training programmes in Dumari Block, Gumla District, Jharkhand. It offers skill training to drop-out youths aged 18-35 years in partnership with FVTRS, Bangalore. The training includes courses in Two Wheeler Mechanics, Electrician, and Bedside Nursing. In the year 2013-2014, 110 youths benefited from these vocational training opportunities.

  • Programme for the Differently Abled

    District

    The Center for Development is engaged in the rehabilitation of differently-abled individuals in Namkum Block, Ranchi, Jharkhand. It focuses on health, education, and social inclusion processes to support differently-abled children and persons. Moreover, the organisation collaborates with Disabled People Organisations (DPOs) to advocate for their rights and address issues related to their well-being.

  • Women Empowerment & Livelihoods Programme

    The Center for Development focuses on women's empowerment and livelihood innovation. It promotes Women's Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and provides training for skill development. The organisation also engages in income-generating activities to support livelihood promotion.
