We are running a project namely ‘Special Need Education Home” i.e. SNEH under our legal entity Nagda Zenith Social Welfare Society, in the small town Read moreof Nagda of District Ujjain MP. The key area of services is the 360-degree rehabilitation and empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PwIDs). Currently, we have 159 such PwIDs to whom our dedicated and qualified team of 35 rehab professionals are providing Early Intervention, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Special Education, Vocational Training & Self Advocacy. We are also engaged in Community-Based Inclusive Development (CBID) by providing the benefits of various Government schemes to all types of differently-abled people.

Issue

Lack of funding: SNEH is a non-profit organization and relies on donations to operate. The cost of providing care to children with intellectual disabilities is high, and SNEH often struggles to raise enough money to meet its needs. Lack of trained staff: There is a shortage of trained professionals in India who can work with children with intellectual disabilities. This makes it difficult for SNEH to find qualified staff to provide the care that its children need. Social stigma: There is still a stigma attached to intellectual disabilities in India. This makes it difficult for families to accept and care for their children with these disabilities. It also makes it difficult for children with intellectual disabilities to integrate into society.

Action

Donate money: Donations are the most important way to support SNEH. Your donation will help the organization provide education, therapy, vocational training, counseling, and residential care to children with intellectual disabilities. Volunteer: If you have time to spare, you can volunteer your services to SNEH. There are many ways to volunteer, such as teaching classes, helping with therapy sessions, or providing administrative support. Spread the word: Tell your friends and family about SNEH and encourage them to donate or volunteer. The more people who know about SNEH, the more support the organization will receive. Shop SNEH's handicrafts: SNEH sells handicrafts made by the children at the organization. By buying these handicrafts, you are supporting the children and their education. Adopt a child: You can adopt a child at SNEH and provide financial support for their education and care. This is a great way to make a difference in the life of a child with an intellectual disability.
