About

  • Headquarters

    Delhi, Telangana

  • Since

    1994

Nav Srishti works to empower women and promote the development of children, emphasising the enhancement of their perspectives and vocational abilities Read more, as well as their safety, education, and health. We think that addressing the issues at the local level by itself won't significantly contribute to long-term solutions. It is necessary to work for programme and policy improvements as well. Nav Srishti is working at both levels with this in mind. On the one hand, women and the local community, along with youth, adolescents, and children, are actively involved in our efforts to tackle local problems at the local level. Additionally, we aim to communicate and cooperate with national and state-level civil society organisations that pursue related goals.

Programs

  • Educational Initiative - Back to School

Nav Srishti's Back to School initiative is designed especially for these kids, offering them an equitable chance to reintegrate into the regular school system. These kids are from the most disadvantaged groups in Delhi: the migrant and informal labourer communities living in the slums of Neb Sarai, Faridabad, and Nangloi. Since adolescent girls in the same community must surmount additional obstacles based on their gender to access the same opportunities, we are particularly focused on empowering them.

  • Mahila Panchayat

    State

With a unique approach that blends community engagement in groups with a dispute resolution procedure, Nav Srishti is helping the Delhi Commission for Women execute its "Mahila Panchayat" programme. Women from the most vulnerable communities—those with a high incidence of documented violence against women—are singled out and urged to join the Panchayat. The topics covered in the training include legal concerns, conflict resolution, legislation and issues connected to crime against women, property rights, maintenance, marriage, child custody, counselling, filing a formal complaint, pursuing with the police, etc. Nav Srishti is in charge of three Mahila Panchayats: Nangloi, Holambi Kalan, and Bharola.
