ONGC Foundation

The ONGC Foundation is dedicated to improving healthcare for underserved communities, and one of its notable achievements is the establishment of the "ONGC Multi-Speciality Hospital" in Sivasagar, Assam. This hospital, located in Rajabari, is part of their CSR initiative to address healthcare needs in the Northeast. In its first phase, the hospital began operations with 300 beds in March 2019, with plans to expand to that capacity over three phases. This multi-speciality hospital is expected to benefit over one lakh patients annually, significantly enhancing healthcare accessibility in the region.

The ONGC Community School, located in the remote area of Sitapur, U.P., is a progressive community school committed to providing quality education while emphasizing traditional values. Established in 2013 as a CSR project of the ONGC Foundation, this CBSE-affiliated school caters to over 1200 marginalized students from the region. With modern, well-equipped classrooms and facilities spread over more than 4 acres, including an assembly ground, multipurpose room, auditorium, and multiple playgrounds, it offers a conducive environment for extensive learning. Notably, the school has excelled in promoting girl child education and actively participates in social and environmental awareness campaigns, such as Swachhta Pakhwada and 'Say No to Single-Use Plastic,' under the guidance of the ONGC Foundation. Its achievements include producing the district topper in the 2019-20 session, with a score of 97.80, reflecting its commitment to education and community development.

The ONGC Foundation is actively engaged in various societal improvements, particularly in the fields of education and empowerment. Under the 'Scholarship to Meritorious Students' scheme, it provides scholarships to economically disadvantaged students pursuing courses in fields like engineering, MBBS, MBA, geology, and geophysics. This initiative seeks to ensure equal opportunities for talented students from SC/ST, OBC, and General (EWS) categories, with a special focus on empowering women through education. Notably, 50% of these scholarships are reserved for female candidates. By offering financial support, the Foundation enables underprivileged students to access higher education, fostering their dreams and future success. This initiative not only benefits the scholarship recipients but also inspires others from similar backgrounds to pursue higher education and fulfil their potential.

The ONGC Foundation, established in 2014, plays a pivotal role in realizing its vision of supporting responsible and sustainable initiatives while prioritizing people, the planet, and profit. To further this mission, the ONGC Foundation has introduced the ONGC Fellowship, a one-year programme designed to offer diverse positions to aspiring change-makers dedicated to contributing to nation-building. In its inaugural batch, the programme has engaged 8 Fellows, 2 Interns, and 1 project coordinator to drive positive change and advance the organisation's CSR projects.
