Programs

  • WASH Project

Navya Disha collaborates with underserved communities, particularly in rural areas, to facilitate the construction of individual household toilets, promote access to clean water, and raise awareness about sustainable sanitation practices such as rainwater harvesting and waste management. Through partnerships with organizations like Grameen Koota and water.org, Navya Disha implements its WatSan program, aiming to enhance sanitation infrastructure and ensure access to safe drinking water. They provide training to local masons, enabling them to construct affordable sanitation solutions. Additionally, Navya Disha facilitates collateral-free microloans for Grameen Koota members to improve water and sanitation systems, while also assisting non-members in accessing subsidies under initiatives like the Swachh Bharath Mission for toilet construction.

  • Sushikshana Project

The Sushikshana program is dedicated to equipping high school students in rural government schools with essential life skills to complement their academic education. With a focus on holistic development, it aims to instill civic responsibility and confidence in students as they transition into adulthood. The program consists of three components tailored for different grade levels: Water-Sanitation-Hygiene (WASH) modules for class 8, Financial Literacy for class 9, and Career Guidance sessions for class 10. Through interactive and experiential learning activities, Sushikshana fosters student engagement and enlightenment. It also establishes WASH committees comprising local champions, students, parents, and teachers to advocate for cleanliness and promote hygienic sanitation practices within the community and across villages.
