Avasar Foundation began as a Group Philanthropy initiative to support the cause of Girl Child Education in India. As we know, especially in rural I Read morendia, it is extremely difficult for girls to go to school, and even if they manage to do, the drop-out rate is alarming. Even as small a thing as having to take care of younger siblings while parents work can keep them out of school. Having an additional hand to support in earning is extremely tempting for parents to allow grown-up children to continue in School. Only sustained attendance at school will help change a girl child's destiny. There are millions of children out there; how do we address that - well, we are sure all readers may have heard of the Starfish Saviour on the beach, making a difference to one Star Fish at a time. We intend to do the same - save one Girl Child from dropping from school at a time.


Issue

The absence of even bare minimum infrastructure like classrooms, benches and washrooms is a major deterrent for growing children, especially girls, to attend schools. Avasar Foundation addresses the issue of sub-par infrastructure in state run schools and lifts it to World Class Standards.


Action

From starting as an Individual Funded Scholarship Program with 7 Matriculates to now crossing 250+ in the year 2023, the program sustains and provides 5 years of financial support to at-risk girls. Undergoing a continuous program of interaction, giving exposure and experience of different environments is an internal part of our program. In 2017, we begin CSR Implementation for a US MNC and expanded our engagement in the education segment. Computer Labs, Science Labs, Construction of Washrooms, and classroom blocks are all part of our projects.,

The schools adopted by Avasar Foundation now attract admissions even from middle-class families. The infrastructure provided and the quality of education imparted at our pre-primary schools is less than none. We run 6 such schools across India. We are planning to increase this number to twenty-five by 2025. An impact assessment report is available for sharing when required.
