Programs

  • Zilla Parishad Primary School, Kaudasar Project

    District

The organisation is actively engaged in improving the physical infrastructure of Zilla Parishad Primary School situated in Kaudasar village, Dindori taluk, Nashik district, Maharashtra. With 234 students from classes 1-8 taught in Marathi, the school faces challenges with deteriorating classrooms, insufficient sanitation facilities, and an inadequate number of classrooms, office space, toilets, and a kitchen. To address these needs, the organization plans to construct two new classrooms, a toilet block for both boys and girls and a kitchen. Additionally, they aim to equip the new classrooms with benches and desks, estimating the project cost at INR 52L (USD 64K). While this initiative is partially funded by donors in India and the USA, the organization seeks additional support for the project. Construction commenced in June 2022 and is expected to conclude within seven months, targeting completion by February 2024.

  • Government Higher Primary School, Heruru Project

    District

The organisation is presently engaged in enhancing the Government Higher Primary School located in Heruru village, Haveri district, Karnataka. With 331 students enrolled in classes 1 to 7 taught in Kannada, the school faces a situation where only half of its 14 classrooms are in good condition. • Govt Lower Primary School, Lyngiong Project

The organisation is actively engaged in enhancing the physical infrastructure of Lyngiong Government School located in the East Khasi Hills District of Meghalaya. With 142 students in classes 1-5, the school faces numerous challenges—a tin-roofed building from 1954 without electricity, vulnerable to wind hazards causing occasional roof damage, and significant leakage issues during rainfall leading to class disruptions. Despite these challenges, the school maintains its student count due to the dedication of teachers and the School Management Committee. To address these issues and accommodate community interest in enrollment, the organization plans to construct four classrooms and a toilet block, valuing the project at INR 54 Lakhs (USD 67K). This initiative, fully supported by a corporate donor in India, commenced construction in September 2023 and is projected to conclude within eight months, targeting completion by May 2024.
