With UNDP support, it formed women's groups, fostered thrift and credit activities, and freed girls from cotton fields. The formation of Mandal Shramika Mahila Samakhya (MSMS), representing Self Help Groups (SHGs), showcases their success in community empowerment. Over two decades, SVK has uplifted marginalized communities in Wanaparthy and Nagarkurnool districts through various initiatives.

  • Dignified Engagement And Empowerment Programme For Adolescents (DEEPA)

    Shramika Vikasa Kendram (SVK) collaborates extensively with UNICEF to address children's issues in Mahabubnagar and Kurnool districts, primarily focusing on combating child labour and child marriage. The DEEPA project aims to empower adolescents in Wanaparthy district through a rights-centric approach. This comprehensive intervention focuses on educating adolescents about their rights, empowering them through federation, and facilitating convergence with government departments. The project addresses critical issues like dropout rates, offering a second chance at education through the Open stream, with a vision to develop a 10-component life skill package for adolescents. UNICEF's role includes developing this package and engaging the District Child Protection Unit in the process.

  • Child Rights Protection Programme

    The "Protection of Child Rights through Community Empowerment" project, implemented in Mahabubnagar District, aims to sensitize and mobilize communities and government departments for child rights. It focuses on strengthening community groups, building rapport with government departments, and forming child rights protection groups. Key activities include enhancing primary health centres, ICDS centres, schools, and Panchayathiraj institutions. The strategic objectives involve mobilizing society, protecting child rights, strengthening government institutions, and lobbying for policy reform. Indicators measure awareness, reduced child labour, improved health, and a decline in child marriages. The project sustains itself through community involvement, government participation, and alignment with national policies.
