Programs

  • Leprosy Detection & Treatment Programme

GLRA India has been actively involved in leprosy control efforts, focusing on timely diagnosis and treatment to prevent disabilities. Through various projects spanning over five decades, it has diagnosed, treated, and rehabilitated around 2.5 million individuals, alongside providing technical support to state leprosy programs. One of its ongoing projects, NIRAMAYA II, aims to enhance leprosy care by strengthening referral services, early case detection, and treatment adherence across eight locations in India. Additionally, GLRA supports the leprosy program in West Bengal and promotes early case detection through public-private partnerships in four districts of Madhya Pradesh.

  • Tuberculosis Detection & Treatment Programme

GLRA India addresses the challenges of tuberculosis (TB) in India by promoting early detection and treatment adherence, especially among marginalized communities. TB, a serious infectious disease affecting the lungs and other organs, remains a significant health concern in India despite nationwide accessibility to free diagnostic and treatment care. GLRA focuses on providing comprehensive TB services, including hospital-based care for extra-pulmonary TB patients and initiatives to improve TB awareness, diagnosis, and treatment adherence among truckers and vulnerable populations. Through projects like HOPE and NAI DISHA, GLRA collaborates with local partners to ensure access to TB services and promote hygiene and early treatment initiation, ultimately contributing to the reduction of TB morbidity and mortality in targeted communities.
